Shining a Light on The Lentz Team – Greg Ohl

Greg Ohl, Vice President and Treasurer of The Lentz Cos., Inc., has been employed full-time with Lentz for over 28 years. However, his relationship with the Lentz family goes all the way back to Franklin Junior High in Dallas, where he became childhood friends with founder Richard Lentz. Both also attended Hillcrest High School. Greg went on to attend Texas Christian University, where he received a B.A. in accounting.

After receiving his CPA certification, Greg enlisted Richard Lentz as one of his customers and helped set up the financials for newly-formed The Lentz Companies in 1986. Now, as a member of the Lentz team, Greg continues to provide financial supervision, but realized he has a mathematical and creative brain!

Greg joined Richard on many job sites and through Lentz’s mentoring and Ohl’s intuitive lighting design/installation talents, he serves as one of the company’s key lighting designers. “I love to first envision an installation, then actually see the final results on-site. It is very rewarding and the opportunity to get out from behind the desk and be outdoors is a bonus! “, Ohl commented.

When Ohl is not cranking numbers or working on lighting installations, he enjoys being both a player, as well as a captain, on various United States Tennis Association (USTA) League teams. He lives in Frisco and enjoys spending time with his three grown kids, 5 grandkids (another on the way!), and traveling with his wife Tina.
